The Secret of Selters
STENOSTIFT
STENOPEN
The last logs of the Biosoldiers
Short Description:
The war is over.
At least, that's what the archives claim.
As military doctor Tarik Senn records the last memories of dying biosoldiers with the Stenopen, he discovers contradictions that shouldn't exist. The deeper he delves into the logs, the clearer it becomes:
Someone has rewritten history.
And the truth only lives on in the memories of the dying.
An atmospheric science fiction thriller about memory, identity, truth, and the question of what remains of a person when only their memories exist.
Detailed Description:
The Ash War ended more than twenty years ago.
Humanity celebrates peace. The archives report a great victory. The past seems to be concluded.
But in the Central Veterans' Hospital of the United Territories, military doctor Tarik Senn begins to doubt this truth.
With the help of the Stenopen – a technology for recording neural memories – he logs the last thoughts of dying biosoldiers. What he discovers there contradicts everything the world believes it knows about the war.
Lost battles.
Erased events.
Strange memories.
And clues to a secret that has been hidden for decades.
Together with bio-surgeon Lyra Velden and severely injured biosoldier Kael Orwin, Tarik follows the traces of a truth hidden deep within the memories of the survivors.
In doing so, he realizes that his search for the truth about the war is actually a search for his lost son.
STENOPEN – The last logs of the Biosoldiers combines science fiction, thriller, biopunk, and philosophical questions into a novel about memory, humanity, and the power of truth.
About the Author:
Aurelion Fael writes science fiction at the intersection of technology, memory, and human identity.
His stories deal less with machines than with the people who are transformed by them.
With STENOPEN, he presents an atmospheric futuristic novel that combines classic science fiction with emotional and philosophical questions.
At the heart of his work are always the questions:
What makes a human being?
How does truth arise?
And what remains of us when only our memories exist?
