KOKUMINAUKA
KOKUMINAUKA
A Novel by Luca Valenti
Short Description:
A literary cult novel full of dry humor, poetic bureaucracy, and atmospheric shifts.
In a world where Sundays appear in shoe compartments, Thursdays accumulate, and words first need to detach, Mr. Lattmann slowly gets caught between the cracks of a reality losing its order.
KOKUMINAUKA is absurd, melancholic, humorous, and at the same time astonishingly familiar.
A novel for people who feel that something is wrong with the world — but in a strangely polite way.
Detailed Description:
KOKUMINAUKA
Mr. Lattmann rarely spoke before his first coffee.
Not out of politeness.
In the mornings, words often still stuck together and had to detach first.
When one day a Sunday appears in his shoe compartment, his world slowly begins to shift. Imperceptibly at first: The air becomes softer. Sounds arrive late. Buses only stop emotionally. And somewhere, an office for temporary Sundays is working against him.
Between talking weekdays, atmospheric difficulties, silent shoes, and the smell of cooked Tuesday, a novel unfolds that is at once absurdly funny and strangely human.
KOKUMINAUKA combines:
dry humor,
poetic surrealism,
Kafkaesque bureaucracy,
philosophical nonsense
and a completely unique literary language.
A book like a lost dream between coffee, piles of paper, and wrongly sorted Thursdays.
For readers of:
Kafka,
Murakami,
Walter Moers,
Terry Pratchett,
and everyone who has ever wondered why Mondays even exist.
About the Author:
Luca Valenti
Luca Valenti writes about the small shifts in everyday life — about words that detach, about spaces that behave incorrectly, and about people who still try to drink their coffee in peace.
His stories move between poetic surrealism, dry humor, and literary common sense. Inspired by European cult novels, quiet big city mornings, old administrative buildings, and the strange rules of daily life, Valenti creates worlds that seem both absurd and astonishingly familiar.
KOKUMINAUKA is his first novel.
The author lives reclusively between piles of paper, notebooks, and atmospheric difficulties.
A Message from the Publisher:
Every page an adventure
With KOKUMINAUKA, our publishing house is releasing a novel that captivated us from the very first sentence.
Luca Valenti achieves something rare: He creates a completely unique literary world — full of dry humor, poetic depth, and surreal everyday observations.
This book is not loud.
It doesn't explain itself.
And precisely because of that, it creates a very special pull.
Between offices, Thursdays, coffee, and atmospheric shifts, a novel emerges that resonates long after and draws the reader deeper into its peculiar reality with every page.
We are very pleased to have Luca Valenti as an author for our publishing house and to be able to publish KOKUMINAUKA in early 2027.
Because some books you don't just read.
You get drawn into them.
