Knatterwind – The Return of the Red Box
The beginning of a new children's book series full of adventure, friendship, and creativity
Short Description:
An old barn. A forgotten red soapbox. And a girl who recognizes what others have long given up on.
When eight-year-old Malena discovers Knatterwind, a 45-year-old soapbox, in her grandpa's tinkering shed, the greatest adventure of her life begins. Together with her friends, she sets about bringing the red box back to life.
Knatterwind – The Return of the Red Box is the first volume in a new children's book series about teamwork, inventiveness, and the power of good ideas.
Detailed Description:
In the small town of Welters, Malena discovers a dusty, forgotten soapbox in her grandfather Manfred's old tinkering shed.
Its name:
Knatterwind.
Knatterwind used to be her grandfather's pride. But for decades, the red box has stood abandoned under a tarp.
While many children today are primarily occupied with smartphones, tablets, and computers, an unusual idea sparks in Malena:
What if Knatterwind could drive again?
Together with her friends Kai, Tanja, Cassie, Jule, Moritz, Ilja, and Ilian, an exciting journey full of challenges, setbacks, and successes begins.
They research with modern media, create plans, organize materials, earn their pocket money, and learn step by step how an idea becomes reality.
They are supported by their teacher Franz, who recognizes that much more is emerging here than just the restoration of an old soapbox.
Because Knatterwind becomes a symbol for something much bigger:
Friendship.
Courage.
Cohesion.
And the realization that children can achieve amazing things together.
Why this book exists:
Knatterwind arose from a simple question:
What would children create today if they combined modern technology and genuine craftsmanship?
The story aims to show that adventures don't just take place in fantasy worlds.
Sometimes they start in an old barn.
With a toolbox.
With friends.
And with an idea.
If children say after reading:
«"We want to build that too."»
or
«"We could do that at our school."»
then Knatterwind has achieved its most important goal.
